PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Town Board of the Town of Wheatland, County of Monroe, State of New York, will hold a regular meeting of the Town Board on April 1, 2021 commencing at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be in a remote format.

All meetings of the Town Board are open to the public; however, the public will not be permitted to enter the Town Hall office and Town Hall building and instead the meeting will be opened to the public by means of remote audio access by placing a telephone call to 585-491-9963 and using access code 413 808 163#. Please call in 15 minutes prior to the meeting start time.

This access code will permit the public to listen, but not to comment. If any member of the public after listening to the audio broadcast of the meeting wishes to submit a comment, he or she may do so by sending the comment in the form of an email to the Town Clerk of the Town of Town of Wheatland at the following email address: townclerk@townofwheatland.org. Trash Clean-Up & Brush Removal Spring 2021

TRASH CLEAN-UP SPRING 2021 TOWN OF WHEATLAND
NOTICE TO TOWN OF WHEATLAND RESIDENTS OUTSIDE THE VILLAGE OF SCOTTSVILLE

On Saturday, April 24, 2021 and Saturday, May 1, 2021 between the hours of 8 A.M. and 3 P.M. there will be dumpsters placed at the Highway Building,1822 Scottsville-Mumford Road. Town Outside Village Residents may bring trash to this location to dump in hoppers provided. Proof of residency will be required. New York State driver’s license is acceptable.

Recycling of electronics will also be available. All electronics can be recycled free of charge. Brush, Tires, Fuel Oil, Gasoline Drums, Refrigerators, Freezers or Paint Containers WILL NOT be accepted. Dumpsters will be manned for assistance.

BRUSH REMOVAL

The Town of Wheatland D.P.W. will pick-up brush at each resident’ s home. Brush pick-up will start on Monday, May 3, 2021. We will pick up the town residential areas first: a. Hamlet of Mumford b. Rolling Acres After the residential areas are done, we will start at the west end of Town and work east to cover the outlying areas. Brush must be neatly piled, butt ends in same direction 1 truck load per household Residential brush only No fence row material, such as trees or large stumps No brush over 6 inches in diameter ONCE A ROAD OR STREET IS DONE, THERE WILL BE NO RETURN TRIP.

Property Tax Receipt Notice

Property owners that have an escrow account are currently receiving a receipt for the 2021 Town and County Property Tax Bill. Due to vendor error, the receipts have a return address of the Town of Irondequoit. All other information on the receipt is correct.

The Planning Board of the Town of Wheatland, pursuant to Sections 116-22 and 130-60.B of the code of the Town of Wheatland, will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at 7:00 P.M. in the “virtual” Wheatland Municipal Building, 22 Main Street, Scottsville, NY to consider the following:

Cypress Creek Renewables, on behalf of Helios Energy New York 4 LLC and Helios Energy New York 11 LLC, for a modification of a Special Exception Use for a large-scale solar energy system in an AR-2 Zoning District. Amended Application includes revised point of interconnection configuration and means of financial security.

Addendum to clarify location:

Wheatland Recreation Winter 2021 Programs

The flyer provided below describes the most recent Recreation Department program offerings, including dates, times, locations and registration fees. A recreation program registration form must be completed for each participant and either mail in the completed form to the Recreation Department or drop it off at the Wheatland Municipal Building located at 22 Main St. Scottsville, NY. Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day

A Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day will be held for all residents of Monroe County but specifically for the southwest region including the Towns of Chili, Gates, Riga and Wheatland and the Villages of Churchville and Scottsville. The collection, which is being provided by Monroe County, will take place at the Town of Gates Highway Department located at 475 Trabold Road, on Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 7:45 am to 12:00 pm.

This collection gives residents the opportunity to dispose of potentially hazardous chemicals in a safe manner and keeps usable items out of the landfills. Appointments are required at all Household Hazardous Waste Collections. Appointments for this HHW collection will be accepted until Friday, April 20th. Waste from businesses will not be accepted.

Acceptable Items:

Monroe County residents can bring up to 30 gallons of liquid (ex – paints) and 75 pounds of solids (ex – fertilizers, pesticides) per appointment at no charge. No 55-gallon drums will be accepted:

  • Latex Paint (1/3 gallon or more ONLY)
  • Oil-Based Paint, Oil-Based Wood Stain & Preservatives.
  • Automotive Fluids: antifreeze, brake, power steering and transmission fluids
  • Pesticides, Fertilizers & Insecticides
  • Flammable Products: gasoline, kerosene, paint thinners, strippers, solvents, glues, etc.
  • Household Cleaners: Soaps, waxes; chemical drain cleaners, etc.
  • Driveway Sealers
  • Pool & Photo Chemicals
  • Rechargeable (Ni-Cad) & Button Batteries
  • Mercury (thermometers, thermostats, fluorescent light tubes)
  • Syringes/Sharps: packaged in clear 2-liter plastic bottles and labeled with SHARPS stickers available through pharmacies and Monroe County DES.
  • Cooking Oil/ Cooking Grease

Unacceptable Items:

  • Used Motor Oil & Lead Acid Batteries (contact service station or retailer);
  • Pharmaceutical Wastes (http://www.monroecounty.gov/ecopark/)
  • Latex Paint ( 1/3 full or less – if not dry: remove lid, put in kitty litter to absorb paint and let dry. Throw in trash. Applies to dried up paint cans as well);
  • Propane Tanks
  • Empty containers (place in trash or recycle);
  • Everyday alkaline batteries (place in trash);
  • Glazing/spackle & joint compounds (place in trash);
  • Asbestos (see Yellow pages under “Asbestos Abatement”);
  • Smoke Detectors (place in trash or contact manufacturer);
  • Products intended for Industrial Use
  • Explosives/ Ammunition/Black or Smokeless Powder (Call 9-1-1)
  • Shock Sensitive Materials (i.e., crystallized ethers, picric acid) (Call 9-1-1)
